Step 1 of 8

Trigger Pull

The shooter pulls the trigger. It replicates a Glock striker-fired mechanism exactly — 5.5 lb pull weight, 12.5mm travel with take-up, wall, and break.

The trigger blade safety must be depressed first (same as Glock). The trigger pull actuates a gas valve linkage instead of a firing pin. The feel is identical to a real Glock 17.

Progressive Gas Valve Opens

Unlike competitors that use snap-open valves (needed to propel BBs), the ReCOIL Pro valve opens gradually over 15-20 milliseconds.

Why progressive? A snap-open valve creates a sharp pressure spike = loud crack. By opening gradually, the same total gas impulse is delivered but the peak sound is dramatically lower. This is a key patent claim — possible only because no projectile needs to be launched.

CO2 Expands Through Chamber

CO2 at 850 PSI releases from the 25cc reservoir integrated in the slide and expands through a 5-8cc expansion chamber.

The expansion chamber is the first layer of sound suppression. Rapid expansion into a larger volume drops peak pressure (and peak sound) by an estimated 10-15 dB before the gas even reaches the piston.

Gas Drives the Piston

Expanded CO2 pushes the steel piston (14mm diameter), which transfers force to the 400-gram reciprocating mass.

The reciprocating mass is the heaviest single component — steel or tungsten alloy, riding on precision guide rails inside the slide. At full setting, it accelerates to approximately 5-8 m/s rearward.

Step 5 of 8 — Key Moment

RECOIL IMPULSE DELIVERED

The 400g mass traveling at 5-8 m/s delivers 3.28 Newton-seconds of impulse — matching a real 9mm round fired from a Glock 17.

Critical innovation: The external polymer slide shell NEVER MOVES. Only the internal steel mass reciprocates. The shooter feels real 9mm recoil in their hands, but from the outside it looks like a plastic training tool. This is why it's legal in Japan — polymer handgun exterior with no metal slide.

The mass hits a polyurethane rear buffer — no metal-on-metal contact, no sharp impact noise.

Return Spring Resets

A dual captive return spring (same configuration as a real Glock 17) pushes the mass back forward. Cycle time: approximately 0.05 seconds.

The spring has a progressive rate — soft initial compression to absorb impact smoothly, then firm at full compression. This prevents the mass from slamming forward and reduces mechanical noise.

Trigger Resets

The forward return of the reciprocating mass drives the trigger reset mechanism — exactly as a real Glock's slide cycling resets the trigger.

The shooter feels the same tactile and audible "click" of trigger reset. They can now take the next shot. The entire cycle from trigger break to trigger reset takes ~0.05 seconds.

Spent Gas Exhausts Quietly

After driving the piston, spent CO2 passes through 4 stainless steel baffles (alternating cone geometry) before exiting through small downward-facing ports.

The baffles work like a suppressor but for low-pressure CO2. Gas is directed downward, away from the shooter's ears. Combined with the expansion chamber and progressive valve, total system noise is <70 dB at source — quieter than a vacuum cleaner.

Three Patentable Innovations

Fixed Shell / Moving Mass

The external polymer slide never moves. A heavy steel mass reciprocates inside it. This solves the Japan problem — polymer exterior (legal) with real recoil (internal steel). No other product does this.

Progressive Gas Valve

Opens over 15-20ms instead of instantly. Same impulse, dramatically lower peak noise. Only possible because no projectile needs acceleration. Competitors can't copy this without abandoning their BB-firing capability.

Adjustable Gas Regulator

Simple mechanical rotary dial. Low/Medium/Full. No electronics, no batteries, no software. Just a variable orifice that restricts gas flow. Reliable for 10,000+ cycles.
